Hi, Im pretty new to 3d printing and having this issue with flashprint software. I created the model (.stl attachment) with sketchup and i imported it to flashprint (fpp picture). When trying to save it to .gx file (gx picture) the model changes (model had 6 holes, .gx file doesnt). What am i doing wrong? no rafts or supports are used.

Have just tested in other slicers (Cura and S3D) and it slices fine. Something strange going on with FP. Let me check settings etc.

Try this one. The STL has issues that need fixing.

IF you don’t have it then get Solid Inspector 2 for Sketchup. Also look at Cleanup 3.

Strangely I saw FP found errors as STL outlined in red, so I ran it through Meshmixer Inspector but even that did not repair it. Your fix version is fine

Hello, Mika!

I found that there was a problem with your stl file. I was able to repair it for you. Please let me know if it works now. Thanks!

Try out Netfabb to fix them.

I have not had the chance to use “Flashprint” yet.

Mostly because the Flash Forge belongs to my brother.

He has not run that printer for a few months. Ever since he got a Windows 10 Update nothing will work for Windows nor install. that has to do with the Flash Forge.

I have tried everything, including uploading Flashprint, but it will not install

We even did restore, and then got a new Installer off the net. And nothing works.

I have tried several fixes but still nothing.

Does any one know what to do? ? ?

Hi, now it works fine  what was wrong with the stl file?

Mika

If I can remember I can post a pic of how it looked in S3D. I think it was surfaces were reversed. Kind of the outside was facing inside.

I opened it on my flash print the stl has errors… see attached… are you running the latest flash print? I also fixed the stl on my version see if it works for you…

I hate windows 10… Flash print and Makerbot print will install on Windows 10 but the x3g file will hang up when printing from an SD card. Well what I found that works (to print via USB) is two options:

1. Run Windows XP using a “Virtual Machine” then you can run the 32-bit software including the ones that Windows 7 and up will not let you install. If printing via USB Virtual rights need to be given to the Virtual Machine…

2. Obtain a Simplify3D software and use the configuration assistant to print to your Flash Forge machine that you own…by default x3g is not a configured option from the first install…

Hello,

We have no problem with printing from the SD card using an x3g file. But the x3g file has to be created on another computer since Windows 10 will not allow any 3D printing software to run since the update.

My brother and I have tried everything that is possible to restore the Windows “install” feature, with no success. We have tried to install “Flashprint”, and Windows 10 will not allow any further installations since the update about two months back.

Do you, or anyone have any idea how to fix the problem? ?

Download “Makerbot Print” from the Makerbot.com website it was made for windows 10… I have a Flashforge Creator Pro which so I would add in the printer profile “Replicator 2” this profile will export x3g files. I do not like that this software does not support direct printing, but I think it will serve your needs.

Hi, I got it already working, but i did try your solution too, but it still looked the same (no holes)

Mika

Hello,

We tried all that. My QIDI Tech 1 uses Makerware. And I have Cura, and Flashprint, and we were using Replicator 2 on the Flash Forge to begin with. But since the Windows 10 update, none of those work.

We use to print directly form his laptop and now I have to create the x3g files on my home computer and load them onto his SD card for him to do any prints.

Got any other suggestions.

Hi, I already got it working but your solution also works  Mind telling me how you fixed it?

Mika

The Replicator 2 is not the same as the Creator Pro. You need to use the Replicator 1 (Dual).

Replicator 2 is not correct, use Replicator 1 (Dual) for a Flashforge Creator Pro or QIDI Tech-1.

Hello Mika,

Try “Standard” print settings. High resolution mess my print up most of the time. I thought it was suppose to be used for a fine detailed, smooth print.
