Hey guys,
We’ve noticed a few Hubs already linking to a live-stream page for the customers to see how the print is going and thought it’s an idea worth sharing. This is especially handy for longer printing processes, as you don’t have to keep coming back to the order page to update the customer with new pics all the time.
Here are some nice tools for streaming live, which are pretty straightforward and easy to use:

Let me know if you’ve already tried this and have other good methods for this.
Hope this helps!

Maybe worth trying the apps like Meerkat and Periscope. More suited to share a stream with an audience than with a customer though!

I usually live stream directly from an Ip camera
customers love that

I dislike sharing directly from an IP camera because I want each customer to have a unique link. Customers should not be able to come back and see someone else’s print. That is especially important if you print a product prototype or something a customer does not want disclosed to others.
I have used youtube, but I have had issues with the stream being maintained. My internet connection is pretty crummy even though I pay for increased speeds. Thanks Comcast.

I change camera user login and password for each print, so only the owner can see his print, it’s very fast to do from a shortcut on my windows screen
the advantage for me is that with this solution I don’t need a computer to be used for streaming
And as my internet connection is very slow here the stream speed autoadapt the resolution choosen by the customer

The privacy is a good point. Isn’t there an option for a private livestream on YouTube? I think so.
Really? I have Comcast high speed, and I get about 100Mb/s. Make sure your modem is replaced. I just had to swap mine, because their older style modems are really acting up on their updated system (for X1). After that swap, I am flying!
I researched modems and bought my own. I have also lived in other areas where service was just fine. Everyone I know in the area has issues with Comcast (both technical and nontechnical individuals). This among many other issues are reasons I am considering a move out of the area.
Nice! So are using live stream for every order? Or just the really long ones? Anyway, it’s good to see the customers appreciate these type of extras you guys are providing.
So how often do you use live streaming for your orders? Did you have any customers specifically asking for this?
Great!
Just set up a YouTube stream
Awesome! You can try it out on your Marvin review already
Yes. There are three options: Public, unlisted and private.
