Hi Alex,
same questions of Ian. You need also to check all wire connections of your printer. For instance if the thermistor isn’t connected you can have this kind of problem.

I have had a printrbot for a while now. I have found that the micro USB port can get loose and will not connect the unless you have just the right angle. The remedy is to carefully crimp the port back down to a tight fit. Then shut it down and reboot. Be sure not to wiggle the port or line. The other is the cura software package may not be set to the correct printer type. Un install then reinstall making sure you have the right interface type set in cura or whatever slicing program you are using. Printrbot line is a good line but comes with some bugs to work out. Hope that helps.
I have a printrbot simple makers kit model 1405 on a ubis 13s hotend and I have not reflashed yet. I have also checked all connections.
I have a printrbot simple makers kit model 1405 on a ubis 13s hotend and I have not reflashed yet however I have pressed the reset button and rebooted following the advice of a printrbottalk forum post however the board didnt flash or do anything upon pressing reset.
I will definitely try both things that you said especially because this was spontaneous. I will make sure to keep all of you updated.
it won’t show any signs as the reset is pretty instantaneous. Here’s some docs for flashing depending on Mac or Windows
Is the green light on, on the printrboard?
Yes it is.
Would the reset wipe the firmware. Either way I will try flashing it.
A reset wouldn’t flash it. I think I flash is in order though…! Let us know how you get on!
Will do!
Is there any visible burns or damage to the board? Most notably the mosfets, capacitors, PCs traces and connectors
No and there was no “magic smoke” coming from the board either.
Good
