I recently got a Monoprice Maker Select Plus and I’m trying to print out scaled down brain models. I am using stock IIIP-cura that came with the device to do slicing. After some misfires it seems to be doing OK, but I still have some small issues. I am printing with support structures enabled but still have some problems with small overhang regions

. I have attached an image that illustrates the issue. Any advice about what might be wrong and how to fix it?
I’m using esun PLA+ filament with bed temp at 60-C and extruder temp at 215-C (PLA+ requires higher temps).
Have you upgraded the part cooling at all? I have the same printer and the stock cooling shroud and fan are not very good. Those sagging areas can be caused by inadequate cooling on the part. There are a few upgrade designs on Thingiverse that you can install along with a radial fan to get better results.
If the case is that the problem areas actually need support to print and the slicer isn’t generating it, you could try using a different slicer as well. There is a newer version of Cura available from Ultimaker or there are other free and paid-for slicers out there as well. I use Cura 2.5 and I just transposed the settings from the IIIP-Cura profile and adjusted from there.

Thank you, I’ll try out the cooling suggestion and the updated software, as well!
Simplify3d has the option to set the amount of support, and the width, down to .1mm. This would allow you to get more support material up in there.
Not sure about other slicers.
