hi, i seem to have problems printing anything with z height above 100mm or so, the extruder seems to drag the print off the bed. i assume this is due to wrong z steps setting, has anyone got a quick solution? cheers
I had the same problem with shifting prints on my davinchi AIO it ened up being the pins in the connector on the stepper motor were loose and when the print was larger and it was moving allot they would move in such a way that it would disconnect itself from the stepper i was able to fix it by using superglue pushing the pins in and apply small ammount of supper glue held the pins in
This is a known problem with the DaVinci printer(s). If you are having an issue with a loud ratcheting noise and the print head shifts position to the right or left, odds are good that it is a broken wire or bad connection in the X axis wiring harness.
Had my 1.0 for almost 2 years. I’ve had a very similar problem, sounding exactly as you described. Nothing I tried worked, went through almost an entire cartridge before I gave up. The death sentence came when tech support advised I ship the 57lb printer to them and import it back - pointless since the whole act of shipping and receiving it exceeded the cost of a whole brand new printer by USD$100… a $400 cost I won’t gamble on. A short while ago, I ordered a different brand.
