I believe that is the default setting in Simplify for the Da Vinci. I have been using the default settings with no issues and even turn the speeds up part way through most prints with no issues. I don’t think it is a power problem or a speed problem. I’d guess there is something getting in the way, are all your cables out of the way? Does this only happen on a specific print or no matter what you print? Have you tried recalibrating your bed? Also what firmware are you running?
This is common with the Da Vinci. Check the wiring going to the X motor. That wiring bundle goes through a lot of stress with the sharp bend so some of the wires tend to go bad and break the connection momentarily. This causes the motor to skip steps.

One other thing to check, that I have not seen mentioned is the bearing housings on the printer are known to crack, and known to cause play. Even if the belt is tight, there is a chance you are getting some type of backlash. Several prints on thingiverse including X axis belt tensioner with bearings for the Da Vinci 3D printer by oscahie - Thingiverse may help even if your belt is tight, perhaps the gear is slipping causing backlash. Not sure but thought it was something I had not seen mentioned above.
I have exactly the same problem. The printer pauses when these shifts occur.
It can also be caused by a loose table and there are YouTube videos explaining a simple fix with a blade.
My problem was kind of the same and it turned out to be the cracked bearing housing problem. It was driving me crazy so I took the X axis and sure enough the black plastic bearing housing was cracked. Carefully I printed one off and it is working again.
It shifts by as much as 1/2 inch some times
First check the hardware (belt, gear, bearing, cables) and firmware like mentioned below. It can also be a problem with the slicer in Repetier. I had the same problem a wile ago. Try it with a new g-code and try not to stress your computer to much wile slicing.

I had to buy a new printer because nothing I did fixed this… It sounds like you are having the same issue.

I print with the right side off so that the wires don’t catch on the plastic, yet to make any kind of cable management. The biggest issue I had that caused mine to jump was that the filament had little “nodules” in it that caused it to jam up while trying to fit through various small holes - it was catching on the edges.
Grab the ext-ruder and forceful move the x and y axes around and lose the belt that way , dont be scared use excess force and loosen free those axes, I used to have same problem when i calibrated my Da vinci 1.A , it would only touch one corner instead of 3 , so my belt were 2 tight.
Has anyone tried swapping out the main board for a Ramps 1.4?
I have had this on my reprap and It drove me crazy…in the end it turned out to be the stepper drivers over heating, put a fan over them and like waving a wand over it all good… maybe try opening up the electronics case getting a desk fan a blow some air over the electronics?
Have you tried changing the below firmware setting? Seems to be fixing the issue for some users.

I have the da Vinci myself and I know of two issues that cause this, both of which I’ve experienced. First is the belt slipping, which doesn’t usually happen especially on new printers but make sure the rails stay lubricated, since they are prone to sticking if they’ve sat still too long or you’re printing a lot. The second is a bit more general, and happens because the stepper is receiving insufficient power. On the Da Vinci this usually happens on the x axis, and you can solve it completely just by slowing down the print a bit. Something about max power throughout on the Due (which the da Vinci runs on)

hi, i seem to have problems printing anything with z height above 100mm or so, the extruder seems to drag the print off the bed. i assume this is due to wrong z steps setting, has anyone got a quick solution? cheers
I had the same problem with shifting prints on my davinchi AIO it ened up being the pins in the connector on the stepper motor were loose and when the print was larger and it was moving allot they would move in such a way that it would disconnect itself from the stepper i was able to fix it by using superglue pushing the pins in and apply small ammount of supper glue held the pins in
This is a known problem with the DaVinci printer(s). If you are having an issue with a loud ratcheting noise and the print head shifts position to the right or left, odds are good that it is a broken wire or bad connection in the X axis wiring harness.
Had my 1.0 for almost 2 years. I’ve had a very similar problem, sounding exactly as you described . Nothing I tried worked, went through almost an entire cartridge before I gave up. The death sentence came when tech support advised I ship the 57lb printer to them and import it back - pointless since the whole act of shipping and receiving it exceeded the cost of a whole brand new printer by USD$100… a $400 cost I won’t gamble on. A short while ago, I ordered a different brand.
