Has anyone had to replace the print bed on a R1? I recently dropped something on to the bed and pretty much shattered it. I ordered a replacement from Robo3D, but when I went to install it the magnets were glued on to it backwards or flipped from the original bed.
In other words I cannot install the print bed because the printer respells it. Since the ones on the bed are glued, I was thinking of popping the ones out of the end blocks and flipping them. Has anyone had something similar to this?
I called the 24/7 support line and was told to schedule an appointment with a level 2 tech.
Posted the same message on Thingverse and it appears the magnets were not supposed to be attached to the bed. I received an additional set of magnets I assumed were for the end blocks but it appears the intent was for me to glue them on. I guess I was accidentally shipped a print bed with them installed.

Your solution sounds like the better of several that I can think of, but I’m not sure how tightly they are installed, so you might have great difficulty removing them. The other solutions being having them send you another bed and hope its not now a standard polarity for them. You could also insert an iron washer so both magnets could stick to it and hold the bed down.

I just looked at my Y carriage and they are glued in pretty good, so I think your gonna have to ask them to send you another one. I hope they send you the epoxy with those magnets to glue them onto the glass as well!
Again thanks for the responses! I looked at removing the magnets from the bed, but the black coloring for the glass is on the back so it is very easy to scratch and I would need to get all the old glue off and make sure it is smooth.
So I am going to contact Robo3D tomorrow and ask them to replace it.
