Does anyone know how to set up a polyprinter to cura. If I could just get a screen shot of the settings. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

What material are you trying to print with? Do you need any settings in particular or just all of them? Personally, I would send the PolyPrinter guys an e-mail asking for their print profiles and they will send them over to you.

The most recent version of the PolyPrinter software has a Cura machine definition (so it can be selected from the machine setup wizard) with an ABS profile and a Taulman PCTPE profile. These ini files are under C:/[Program Files]/PolyPrinter/Cura/ and you need to copy the “PolyPrinter 229.ini” to C:/[Program Files]/Cura_15.02.1/resources/machine_profiles/ and then start Cura and setup a new machine, choose “Other” and select the “PolyPrinter 229” option. The ABS profile is the default profile for the machine settings and you can load the Taulman PCTPE profile using “Open Profile”. I haven’t tried printing with this machine setup so your mileage may vary but it appears to have everything setup similarly to KISSlicer.

What do you think about your PolyPrinter? We love ours up here at work. We’ve been printing with ABS lately, which it really seems to like and watching it print at around 250mm/sec and still have good accuracy is just awesome.

Ya, I like how loading up the profile in Cura produces a warning about it being “highly unlikely that your machine can achieve a print speed above 150mm/s” with a 250mm/s printing speed. Little does Cura know…
I love printing with it (I was familiar with it from using the ones at the Dallas Makerspace) and the first print I did with it at home was a 30+ hour print (that would’ve been difficult to do at the Makerspace; it was part of what ended up being a 60+ hour print). I’ve been printing in ABS mainly but I have different nozzles set aside (just different nozzles to avoid cross-contamination; haven’t had a chance to drill out a nozzle for 0.8mm to actually do thick NinjaFlex lines) for Woodfill, PLA, NinjaFlex, Brassfill, t-glase, etc. I spent a few hours dialing in the settings for each material to get a good starting layer and minimal stringing.

Are you local to the DFW area? Where do you get your filament? I got a guy set-up to sell Taulman brand Nylons in the Plano area. BTW - if you’re going to print with Nylon and want the strongest parts, print with 0.6-1.0mm nozzles. The 910 filament is crazy stout when we printed with a 0.8mm nozzle. Granted, we couldn’t print as fast because the extruder gear tries slipping on the filament when printing at max speed…but, we were still getting good prints between 60-120mm/sec, which is still impressive.
