Perfect print with Printrbot simple metal

Hi

I’ve notice in the 3D hub that people can prodeuce high qality print with Printrbot simple metal, at 50 and 100 micron.

I Just wonder if any that produced such a perfect print could share a copy of the slicer software settings?

I’m testing Slic3r, Cura, Craftware, Meshmaker, and KISS Slicer.

It is possible to sort hubs by printer type. You can put in an inquiry at a hub with a printrbot and ask for their settings. Also some of my customers request print settings when they order. I send screenshots or simplify profiles of print settings used. You could also try that route.

My first printer was a printrbot simple kit in 2012. That was when they were still made out of plywood and held together with zip ties but with a lot of tinkering and patience I got it to produce amazing prints. These days all my machines are custom builds on aluminum rails so I have no settings to offer but I just want to suggest that you might be asking the wrong question. I use slic3r because it gives me the most control and I have over 100 settings profiles for different situations. Even then, those are starting points that I still end up modifying for just about every print. You want to get to a point where you know problem “x” means I have to adjust “y” and that only comes with tinkering/experimenting. I would focus on solving one problem at a time and mastering whatever software you are using instead of copying another person’s settings. To really push the limits of quality you will have to customize those settings to your specific machine and adjust accordingly for each print. If I remember correctly the printrbot forums are amazing and if you ask about something specific you will get a lot of detailed tips.

Thanks for you reply so-far. I’ve been experimenting and tinkering past few months, but, still can’t get the like prints shown on 3D Hub. Also, I didn’t want to reinvented the wheel, hence, the question for settings so I can use it as a base line and to compare them to my settings. I’ll try both the search on the 3D Hub & the Prtinrbot forum.
