Hi,
Again I’m looking for advice as I see an increasing numbers of prints made to be painted then.
What would you recommand for those prints concerning: the material, the finishing, the resolution and the paint.
If you have any experience concerning this project, I’d be glad to hear about it

I use the following for my figurines (see my hub, or look for me on the web 
Material: ABS
Finishing: acetone vapor
Resolution: 0.1 mm layer height, 0.4 mm nozzle
Paint: acrylic
I painted my models, best suited for modeling acrylic paint.
This paint is suitable for all materials for 3D printing.

Hi Julie,
I don’t have the slightest talent for all this paint magic, but my wife sure does. She uses a primer spray on the models first. There is a brand especially made for miniature painting (eg: http://www.games-workshop.com/de-DE/Chaos-Black-Sprühgrundierung;jsessionid=B2C62C716B5B29F644A507895F3D252C) . Then she paints on it with revell model acrylic colors. these are quite expensive, but the results are very nice:

Definitely you will want to sand the parts. We tried lots of different paints and very few didn’t work. One cool thing is to use Plastidip. !

Hey @GloomySparker have you tried yourself since then?
No, sorry, no time…
I think I will first try acrylic paints using a paintbrush… If it is sucessfull (which I think it would be), I will use an Air gun.
