I just got my anet a8 put together and thought I would try my hand at printing a bench. When I loaded the sd card in with the gcode the print starts off of the build plate. How can i fix it so that it starts in the middle of the heat bed?

Why all of you are buying anet A8 and not A6 which is newer and better?!
try printing from a slicer like Repetier.
try push one or both end-stop (XY) or remake gcode

send us the first 20 lines of your gcode
The Anet A8 3D printer would probably pose no troubles until there is a trouble in your gcode. Try detecting the errors and rectifying them to get better results.
