I have a CTC 3D printer and I’m using the makerbot software… I guess thats called makerware? The problem I’m encountering is the speed of my prints. I am trying to play with the speed to see if the quality of my printers are increasing… which they are. One problem I cant seem to figure out is when it comes to a small detail of a print (like towards the top of a print when just a a few more layers need to be placed) my printer seems to just clump up all the plastic and the top of the print looks really bad. It know its due to the previous layer not having time to cool before the next layer is placed. I just don’t know what setting to change in the makerware? Can anyone give me any insight into this problem?
Is there anyway to make the printer print dirt slow? I know there are other factors that can solve this but I really want the printer to just slow down.
It’s basically because Makerware does not have a cooling period for layer times if there under a certain duration so unless you want to get something like simplify 3D which I would highly recommend you can adjust the speed and what temperatures are set at different points in the print, to put it honestly though there is no way of slowing down print speed nearer the top in makerbot software so I would print a fan shroud and have an active cooling fan on the print which will help a great deal. Are you printing abs or pla?
