Since the early days of 3D Hubs you’ve asked us for different slicing settings, infill calcultions and better price calculations. We’ve since added support for non-FDM based technologies for which we calculate 100% infill.
Today we’re extending that by announcing the ability to change the part volume from the order page. Hubs can adjust the volume upwards or downwards by simply typing in the desired volume, this volume could accomodate for example:
- higher infill %
- including support material amount
- hollow prints / solid prints
- different volume based printer slicer software

We’ve create this GIF to show you how it simple it actually is. Let us know what you think and how we could further improve the order handeling experience.

I have always been confused as to the volume. How do I know how to adjust it to achieve different infill %? I use repetier host on a reprap with mostly slic3r

Hey Mcmasterp, you can fill in the material volume that you get from slic3r. We’re also looking at having slicer profiles directly in the site but for now this is a pretty easy way to make it work.
