need a 3d design for printing and someone to print my prototype

I’m making a new phone case prototype, but i have no experience in 3d design or rendering. I need someone to create the 3d design as well as print the final product once the render is complete based of the sketch designs iv already created on paper. material isn’t much of a concern, just to get a feel for the product and its physical attributes are my main goal for this project

Many can help with this. Do you need modeling or engineering/design help? I am experienced in product design and not only modeling. Two very different trains of thought. Modeling is easy to find, but true design thinking and engineering is a little harder. If you need help with the latter, feel free to reach out to me. Best of luck.

i already have the basic design in sketches. it doesn’t have measurements but its to fit an iPhone 5, so i assume during the the 3d rendering, it wouldn’t be too difficult to look up cad files already made for the iPhone 5 to make the modeling easier. ill leave material types and any unique characteristics to whoever i hire. i just want to get the general idea for the feel of the device and its functionality

You’re correct Phillip, there is no need to CAD from scratch as phone CAD files are available to build the case from. Open source ones sometimes need a little adjusting, as opposed to ones from the manufacturers. But usually very slight. If you’re doing feel and visual for now, go cheap material type. Then when you’re happy, do the material you prefer. I like ninja flex or nylon for cases in my opinion.

Sounds like there are a number of local folks that can help you with the design side as well as getting the case printed. When you are ready to get designing yourself, you may want to consider many of the free or freemium software out there that makes designing such a thing very easy. As an entrepreneur, you can get a free license to Autodesk Fusion 360, a cloud based system with robust design capabilities and a ton of free how-to videos and webinars to get you started. Fusion 360 lets you design with solid primitives, and it also allows you to sculpt. If also has very intuitive mechanical testing functions if you want to see where your part might be too weak or where it might break. I’ve attached a screenshot of an iPhone 6 case being designed in Fusion 360.

You may also want to look at the latest version of MeshMixer - another package that you can download for free and has extensive and robust design tools that let you optimize your design for printing. These are very easy software packages to learn for doing basic design work and if this is a space you want to play in, you should try out these tools.
