I’m curious to hear from other folks some of their most useful objects or “products” they’ve created? I’m working on a couple cool ideas but am always curious what other people have done for things around the house, hobbies, etc.? I’m still relatively new to the whole arena but it sure is exciting knowing the skies the limit into what can be created!

I created some curtain rod ends (pretty boring I know) but that was useful because I only needed 1 and a pack of 4 cost over $10.
All the cool stuff I have created is not really useful but still awesome haha I just finished a miniature downhill bike today with working front and rear suspension (the first bike I did was super popular). Hobbies is a big one, I’m working on a motorised speed boat because I’ve always wanted to design one (but would obviously never design a full size one) which I couldn’t do before 3d printing came along.

Storage boxes are always useful for me. I have printed (and designed) a few of these. I have also printed egg cups, plant pots, cable protectors, phone stands and phone cases. I print whatever makes me think “hey thats pretty cool and will save me a hassle I have to put up with at the moment”
Also as my time is limited I usually print something that doesn’t take too long or requires a lot of assembly. Has to be a tried and tested print.

Dangerous question my friend
These are some of the more useful things I’ve designed and printed (that are not improvements to the printer itself)

Good to hear what some of you guys are working on. I’m always trying to come up with new ideas. Yea I’ve realized a lot of the things I’ve printed are usually not all that useful but still pretty neat. haha Right now I’m working on a glass bottle lock as well as several other ideas I’ve had. Not necessarily useful though. I’ll keep posting some pictures of things I’ve done as I’ve create them.
I printed some slide-in clips for a camera cabinet (for a mobile photo booth) and screwed them directly to the wood. They work great, and really pop in bright green! Fortunately, they’re on the inside of the cabinet. Of course, I don’t have a photo of them, just a video. And it’s not posted anywhere useful.
I’m currently creating a piece for my father for his bikehelmet.
Something that clicks in one of the top grooves and you can mount a light on it.
In that way he can mountainbike in the dark when he comes home from work.
And that’s pretty much the most useful thing after a stand for his bike, a batteryholder, a SD Card holder and some add-ons for my Vertex printer.

I was looking everywhere for some sort of belt hanger but couldn’t find anything until I did a search on thingiverse and came across all sorts of these http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:570010 …Printed these at Tiertime’s lab in Brooklyn NY on the UP BOX.
Simple, but all of a sudden I know where my belts are in the morning!
It’s not the most exciting print, but I would have to say it has been extremely useful. I designed my own tool holder to hold my tweezers, wire brush, and scissors on the side of my Replicator 2. You can also see the tool holder in the background that holds my set of hex wrenches. I would also have to rate the 3D printed parts in my custom designed filament stand as being at the top of most useful list.
I’ve done a lot of custom hooks and things for around my house. The best thing is when you can create something that’s perfect for your need but is too custom to find in a store. That’s why I love 3D printing!
I made this coat cook to fit on the end of my cubicle at work because my desk was at the end of a row and there was nowhere to put my coat!
In my opinion, the best of 3Dprinting is the fact that you have your own factory at home, so with your 3D design skills, your printer and your imagination you can make allmost everything
I have designed and printed a support for my rotary machine , towel holder for my bath, keyholder for my door (a lot of holders jajaaa), parts for cameras , windsurf stuffs , trophies , spare parts and more … I love 3D printing
