My Monoprice MP Select Mini has recently begun experiencing issues. I know it is not completely jammed because the filament can still come out the hot end, but only very slowly. These leads to an extremely inadequate amount of extrusion.I can occasionally hear a noise from the printer as the extruder motor slips back on the filament. This issue began immediately after I cleared a jam where the filament coiled up in the tube. I have tried printing at slower speeds, and that seems to help. Prints do not completely work unless I use a speed 1/10 of what I used to be able to use. This is on the exact same design as previous prints. Pushing on the filament to try to make it extrude faster has not made a difference. A higher temperature of 230 C helped, but 240 C was apparently too high and did not work as well as normal temperature. I am printing with PLA which I normally use at 210 C. Increasing extruder speed has not helped, as it only slips back on the filament more when it goes faster. I would appreciate any advice that could be provided.

240c is way too high, and you may have cooked the lining in your heat break. That’s the tube that sticks out of the hot end on the other side from the nozzle. You can buy a half-dozen replacement heat breaks on Amazon for under ten bucks or so and it’s a good idea to have several on hand - nozzles too. Check out the Monoprice Mini Facebook group. There’s reams of information and tips on keeping the machine in good order.
The plastic tube on the opposite side of the nozzle appears to be undamaged, and my situation is the same as it was before I tried 240c. Fortunately, I don’t think my printer was damaged by the heat. I will remember not to heat it up that much again, however.
