Hello all 3D Printing Fans. I am trying to launch a new 3D filament store. I think it is a great way to give back to the 3D printing community. I am currently struggling to get funds for inventory. I am also launching this business because there are not a lot of suppliers in Canada and I want people to have more variety when choosing where to get their filament from. I already have contacted Taulman3D and they said I can be their partner. I would greatly appreciate it if you can donate to my GoFundMe campaign at this url

Thank you all for reading this and I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hi Paul,
I think you’re right saying that there are not many suppliers in the west coast, but nowadays, I don’t think having a store (and therefore a physical inventory) is the best way to start a business. You have probably realized about the cost of that. Are you located in Mission, right? So I guess you’ll be shipping the products to most of your clients. In my opinion, a brick and mortar filament business might make sense if you were located in Vancouver or Metro Vancouver.
We usually get our filament from filaments.ca. In orders over $125, the shipping is free, and we usually get them in 3-4 days (we live in Vancouver). How are you going to compete with that? I would suggest you to check Amazon’s third party seller service. You can have Amazon fulfill all your orders by having them store, pick, pack and ship on your behalf. This way your items become eligible for Prime two-day shipping. Here you have the link: Fulfillment by Amazon – FBA – Amazon
I hope you find this information useful.
Best,
Nerea
