While yes in a way it is scamming the system, no one loses in it.
The printers get the bigger order number next to their hub in the search results
3D Hubs gets the 12.5% of all these orders

Thus creating more profit for the hub and 3d hubs.

And I never said that we wouldn’t actually print the order. So in a sense, it is a legit order just done between printers.

If this is against the terms somewhere, I’d like to see it and obv if it is not allowed, I wont do it.

But currently in my eyes, that total order number seems to be the biggest hurdle.

And as a follow up note for Nikolay, I am not being very aggressive in drumming up business locally so my stats reflect that a little bit but it is ok for me. Slow and steady or not so steady is ok for now!

Don’t count on it! I had a recent order from another maker with a broken print who needed a part. I was able to make him a high quality part and also test some options to make sure it would be just right. He was thrilled and I was happy to help get him back up and printing!

True true - i’ve had two “printer parts” orders. When you can’t print it or can’t get the part right, you need to reach out just like any other customer! Printing for fellow Hubbers makes you go the extra mile as you are basically printing for your competition - so you have to show off!

I’m starting a new hub myself (not all verified yet - waiting on the postcard). At any rate, the only advantage I could come up with is to only charge 50% initially to hopefully get things rolling

I think you are correct. I might offer some near free small prints for a while. I would be operating at a loss but it would generate a customer base and get the ratings started.

@Slic3DBread I think your Minimum order value is too high at 7.50 should be closer to 3-5
