Hello, I have a new Flashforge Creator pro which is an amazing work horse for me.

I need to print a lot of a single object and unfortunately cannot use ditto mode because of the sixe of it. The nozzles are too close and it just wort work in any orientation.

Is there a mod (or way) to move the print nozzles wider apart?

But for real, You can do that by modeling a new carriage for extruders and then dissassemble it and put new carriage to it and thats it, that simple.

Yes, WMD makes a really nice ditto head mount. I have there regular extruded mount on all of my creator pros. Great product! Very well made.

Within your slic3r you set the machine to use only one nozzle, for single PLA prints I use the left (as nearest the fan) and the right for ABS.

Then layout multiple copies of the needed design to fill the print bed. Is not a mod it’s a change of work-flow and the software need to support the printer

I just ordered the regular mount for one of my FFCp’s. Kept meaning to and forgetting so this post nudged me!!

I think he is looking to do ditto printing using both nozzles.

One thing I just thought of is that when using both nozzles with PLA you will need to modify the filament cooling fan ducts to work with both nozzles.

What is Ditto printing?

Coming from a rep rap single nozzle to a duel nozzle machine. I just set-up the machine to use one nozzle and print as many as will fit my build area. The question is about a mod which is not needed. I just don’t get the need for a ditto function within the printer.

I didn’t see it right off but is it made to work with the ditto option where the nozzles are further apart? I’d like the file just to have. You never know!

To add:

JF is a great guy. He offers support both on his products, and on lots of other issues in the various groups.

He is all around a leader in our industry.

His products are litterally the best you can expect from a machinist.

Talk to him, or email him directly when you begin the upgrade. There are some things that like swapping extruders, or something like that, that you do with this mod. I have used this mod, but it has been awhile.

Note that this mod cuts your print bed in half. That is, once installed, the FFp print area is reduced when this mod is installed. So your printer becomes dedicated for dual printing, or single printing with 1/2 the bed. (if i recall).

I’m assuming Ditto printing is using both nozzles at once to print two small objects simultaneously (one with one nozzle one with the other).

Ditto is about printing more objects at the same time using both nozzles. Effectively it doubles the output of a machine. The problem is with the stock nozzle spacing you can only do objects that are about 32 mm in size, which is just over an inch in size.

Yes, 2 objects printing at the same time using the same model. Essentially the extrusion codes are sent to both extruders at the same time. With wider spacing larger objects can be dittoed. Like around 110mm which is about 4". Or you could do 4 2" parts per side, printing 8 at a time using both nozzles. Effectively it is doubling the output of the printer.
