We are looking to print full color presentation architecture models, you haven’t heard of anything new coming out? We are a bit unsure about the projet 660 because color’s feels a bit washed out, and feel like something new is coming out soon.

The new HP MultiJet printers are amazing and fast. We have 2 (so far - more ordered). They are a little pricey, though. Stay away from the Rova4D. It’s a neat idea, but needs some work. The color mixing doesn’t work as well as it should (because it doesn’t purge a color when done with it, it tends to bleed into surrounding areas).
If you can afford the HP, I would say to go that way.

Here’s the run down. If you buy new you have the warranty if you’re looking to buy used make sure you checkout the printer before hand and everything is working fine.
These printers are great when they work.
When something goes wrong its not fun.
Parts and materials are expensive please look into
cost before you jump the gun.

They are still the go-to printer for full-color architecture models. And there are some great buys out there that are “like new” and have real potential. If you are interested in learning more, I can provide pricing on some new and use 660 Pro printers. We have lots of experience with repairing these machines and I would be glad to discuss some things you may want to consider before buying.

Hi @Steven_51 , there’s almost certainly something better just around the corner, but then there always is with technology; whenever you buy anything you’ve got to do so with the knowledge that there will be something better available pretty soon, you just have to bite the bullet and make a decision (unless there’s firm evidence of something better coming very soon).
That said, I’d be more interested in your needs rather than the pros and cons of particular printers. Do you have any other printers now (i.e. will this be your first printer)? How many models are you likely to produce per month? What specific advantage do you feel owning your own printer will give you over contracting the work out?
Something like the Pro660 is a huge chunk of cash, and it’ll come with a steep learning curve and some substantial running costs, while depreciating every moment it’s sat there not actually printing something. How many contracted jobs could you have completed for the cost of the machine and a year’s running costs and time for training?

I’ve decided to do a 2 year lease on the machine since 3D printing is advancing so rapidly these days.
Has anyone had experience leasing a machine like this?
a year maintenance I read somewhere is about $9000, and a liter of powder is about $1000
anything I should take into consideration?

Since you’ll have 1yr service all the part will be covered under warranty. You’ll also need print head… Binder clear and color. Head cleaners. Super glue… keep in mind your first few print and from time to time you’ll most likely break a few prints. www.cokreeate.com
