We have recently opened Ocean State Maker Mill in Pawtucket, RI a hackerspace/makerspace dedicated to providing Rhode Island with a home for its amazing maker community. We are an entirely membership run and funded organization with dedicated space at 80 Fountain Street, Pawtucket, RI. We are currently getting things off the ground be we already have workspace and a small collection of tools and 3D printers in the space for members to use. You can find out more on our website OceanStateMakerMill.org and on twitter @OSMakerMill. If you would like to arrange a tour of the space or find out more, feel free to contact me here on 3D Hubs.

Pawtucket: a birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Glad to see Matt and Ocean State Maker Mill helping to lead the charge for our country’s next manufacturing revolution.

Great initiative Matt! Next time you make it to New York, You should check out the New Lab, they are setting up a new manufacturing and technology center in the Brooklyn Navy Yard . They are very open to sharing knowledge.
Thanks Alex, I will try to get down there and check it out. This is not my first go around at setting up a hackerspace. I founded HackPittsburgh in 2009 and was their president for basically the first 3 years. I have also been to multiple hackerspaces around the country and was a member of a fab lab here in RI.
We decided to open the new space here in RI because the core 3D Printing Providence crew had so many things we were working on but didn’t have an environment that was truly conducive to collaboration. It’s an exciting road to travel down and we hope our efforts will serve the region well.
