Hi,
A problem has started with my sunhokey i3 prusa. for some reason the extruder nozzle does not reach the set temperature of 240Deg. i just halts between 226 and 230. From the RAMPS board i can see the LED corresponding to the nozzle heater blink when it reaches 230 and then falls back to 226. Never had this problem earlier. it would ramp to 240 easily.
can someone help me troubleshoot the problem

and ifset 240° and you manualy stop extruder fan when temp is 230° on extruder ?

Hi,
If it was working fine in the past, check you wire and connector to the heater cartridge, just set the printhead to 240c and check the cables and connectors for any heating. I had once an issue with a connector not making proper connection and the connector melted.
Also do you have the print cooling fan running when the print head heats up? Do you have any insulation on the print head heater block?

If you set it to 250 does it gets to 240?

Gonna say loose wire, or almost completely broken wire connector. Can check all wires, especially the wires on heat cartridge. The also check the MOSFET on the heat bed side of the RAMPS. Check and recheck all wires.

My shortlist of todos for this scenario.
Heater catridge go bad? - Check with a replacement if you have one. Resistance check with multi-meter.
Wire loose? - Visual inspection and if possible confirmation with continuity and resistance check on multi-meter.
Re-do PID settings? - Run a PID-autotune and see if it can hit the target temp. If so, use the new PID values.
Power Supply going bad and now under voltage? - Turn on printer, hot end heater and bed heater, then check voltages on all used power supply rails.
Heater mosfet going bad? - Try a different heater mosfet, check mosfet temp during operation.
Fan interfering? - Turn fan off, check fan orientation to nozzle, turn fan speed down.

You have to calibrate your PID values and change them in the in the Firmware or Eprom.
Curios is the point that the problem is new, the Heatcartrige or the sensor might be broke or broke a little bit.

cos you have set max temparature set in printer setting or try to tide all electric cables with screwdriver properly

Is that the original heater? If it is
how old is the printer ?
Do you use it in a ddaily basis?
If is about a year old, and using it daily. The heater is bad. Check the voltage (12v or 40v)and buy a new one.

By default the max is set to 270 degrees C but depending on your power supply you might have to Change this line in the Sprinter Settings.

set it to 255 for now and see if that helps
you will need the Latest version of Arduino
Could be a bad poly fuse. My bed was the same way
If you need heater cartridge I am in California. I am starting to stock up small parts like this in my online store. Anyways, if one needed let me know.
Hope the issue is fixed. No response for a while.

Hi,
I have prusa i3 rep rap 3d printer. I bought it somewhat one week ago. In my printer the nozzle temperature is not increasing after 180 deg celsius though i connected my extruder fan to 5 volts. If someone give some solution, that will be useful for me.
