Hi guys
I just started 3D printing for about a week with a new Flashforge Creator Pro. Today I messed up big time. I’ve changed filaments before, after heating up the extruder I push down the filament before level down the spring and pull out the filament. But today I was not paying attention while doing this and I pushed down the filament too quick and too hard and I think I jammed it.
The situation as you can see in the picture is the filament is stucked from all the way. I tried preheat and push down, pull out the filament but it just stuck there big time.
Do you guys think I have to take everything out to parts in order to fix it?
I’ve searched the internet but this task seems to be a bit too complicated for me, i’ve never done this before so I would like some recommendation and suggestion here if you guys don’t mind.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your time reading my post.

Preheat the nozzle and when its hot remove the nozzle, try load/unload with the nozzle out, manually that is.
you can sometimes burn the Teflon tubing inside the peak tube, it just comes out with the nozzle removed, I think your problem is in the nozzle / peak tube area.
Hope this helps.
Ah! Hate when this happens
First watch this video if you havent already to get a good feel of the disassembly of the extruders so you dont damage anything. (Flashforge Creator Series 3D Printer: Disassembling the Extruder - YouTube).
I recommend that to heat it up about 15 degrees higher than whatever you are using (so like 230 for PLA or 245 for ABS).
Then try unloading it. If it’s a little tough to get out, I don’t want to say “rip” it out, but use some force. If it grinds the plastic off onto the gears, you can just brush those out with an old toothbrush or something.
Then, once you have the plastic out of the extruder, cut off the top to make sure you have a rather flat/strong/1.75 mm thick tip of filament. Trying to push it down like that will be a lot easier and a lot higher chances of working.
Good Luck! If this doesn’t work, I would contact FlashForge
There is no peak in an flashforge extruder, its a metal tube lined with ptfe.
The jams are usualy caused by the filament being pulled back too far whilst molten, and solidifying as a plug inside the extruder. The best way to try and dislodge it is to use the filament load function, then unload function repeatably.

Got a FF Replicator dual for 1 year now. i replaced my teflon tube about 6 times
Thank you guys I tried several ways but it does not work because the filament got stucked all the way from the top down to the noozle. So I could not seperate the motor and the noozle.
I contacted Mr Tang from Amazon Flashforge and he gave me some pictures and videos instructed to cut off the filament and try flush out the filament without the motor.
It was easy to cut off the filament on top and inside the drive but I still could not seperate the motor out of the extruder. The space between the top noozle and the drive is very tiny. It took me sometimes to cut off the filament between with a very thin blade. First step done.
Then the next step is to flush down the stucked filament without the motor on. After I heat it up I used a rod with small head to poke down the filament but it’s tough like rock. I could not even make it move. I almost gave up then I tried to heat up the poking rod with my lighter then try melt down the stucked filament. And YES it worked, after the filament got melt down it was easy to poke down the left over and flush it out of the noozle. You can see it in the attached picture. That also means I do not have to take out the noozle which looks totally difficult for me from the video…so thanks god!!!
This is the first time I’ve done something like this. When it comes to technical stuff, i am a total noob. So dont laugh at me if I am feeling kinda invincible a little bit inside lolz.
After all thank you guys for all the advices, I am really appreciate it. Nobody I know have a 3D printer so it’s all goes down to the online community like here.
Last but not least I have to say the support from Mr Tang is very good so far.
Hi, where do you buy your prfe tube. I need to some stock some. Local supplier too expensive.
Hey man, i am a total noob with these things. I have never removed the noozle before, someday I might have to do it finally but until then I will try to be safe. The jam was entirely my own fault but I think I got lucky the first time.
So try my unconventional method and be sure to tell me how it turns out.
Good luck.
The problem of filament melting and solidifying as a plug has also happened to us several times in the past. In most cases filament residue slowly builds up in the extruder until it prevents more filament from being fed through. This is most likely due to the use of dyed filaments (we find black filament is particularly prone to clogging up our extruders). Our solution inblolve: 1. Remove the nozzle (you could use a ratchet with the correctly sized connector). 2. Place the gunked up nozzle in a conainer full of acetone (preferably glass just to make sure it isn’t a material that will be damaged from the acetone). 3. If acetone does not dissolve, you could say melt, the filament you were using you may need to find a blow torch or any other equipment with which you can direct large amounts of heat on the nozzle. While heating up the nozzle use a wire, we used a guitar wire, to clean the filament out of the hole in the nozzle. Your strategy of loading and then reloading the filament to get it unjammed sounds like it works well. We will be sure to try it need next time we encounter this problem.
I bought 5 meters from Aliexpress directly.
Hey I had this problem too check this video out it may help. - YouTube
