My name is Ben. I am having issues with my Afinia 3D printer when extruding filament and going to print. I would like to hire someone to take a look at it and help fix it. Tell me your rate and we will work something out.

We might be able to help you with some troubleshooting tips here. @gabriela3d could you tag this in the Boston Community?
Tell us about the problem and some info about your bot (how many hours on it and such). Also you could post the same info in the reddit subforum r/3dprinting and you will get a bunch of informed opinions about how to resolve most common extruding issues.
Hope we can be of some help.

Hi Ben. I am near the Boston metro west area and well versed in FDM machine repair. I haven’t worked on an Afinia, but my friend operated one for a couple years. The Up model printer. I could ping him with images and video if you take it, or I could borrow the machine to work on it at Artisan’s Asylum; a 40sq/ft Makerspace in Somerville. We have a lot of folks fixing printers there. My friend *might* still have his old Afinia for salvaging parts if we need to … he upgraded to a Ultimaker 2 at some point. Anyways, I’d be happy to see if we can help get it back up and running. If you need prints ASAP, I would suggest using 3-D Hubs in the mean time. I guess my only question is … does Afinia have any kind of warranty or repair service? You might want to check on that first before having someone work on the machine.
Hey, Thanks for the response. I sent it back to the tech guys at Affinia while still under warranty and they said it was fine… But it still isn’t working. I would be happy to meet at Artisan Asylum I just got the Weekend Warrior membership last month and haven’t had a chance to use it.
