FYI - FFCP Users replace the metal washer on the extruder assmebly.

I never know who reads on their printers news groups and forums or not. So just as an FYI to FlashForge Creator Pro users, there was an announcement last month that the metal washer on the top of the extruder head assembly should be swapped out with a T-shaped plastic fixture.

The reason for this is that the metal washer poses a potential fire risk. Should the housing on the wires become worn you have a metal washer and exposed wires with electricity flowing…

Oh wow, thanks a lot for the heads up. Nearly ignored this alert. I sniped the cable ties last year though, so I hope they wouldn’t wear through. I’ll certainly replace it though!

I knew about this for ages on my ctc while it was cutting into the wires I didn’t think ti would be a fire hazard as when you short out the power connectors on these machines the just power of and kill all power?

There is the possibility (however small it may seem) that when you short the wires against the washer it could spark or overload a improperly maintained (poorly wired, OLD, etc) electrical circuit, both posing a more serious fire risk.

I would leave it or replace it as it helps with cable management. But snipping it will lessen the wear against the washer/t fixture, so it is really your call.
