I see that near me is a fullcolor sandstone printer (from zcorp) available on 3dhubs. As I understand 3dhubs only uses STL files. So how do I get the color information to the printer?

According to wikipedia there are 2 proprietary extensions to stl but they will only add color information to triangles and not full textures, and according to Support colours for binary STL? · Issue #25 · SketchUp/sketchup-stl · GitHub 2 zcorp does not even process these types of STL files.

But there are more sandstone printers on 3dhubs, so apparently it can be used. So how can this even work?

Hi, Jan!

You can actually upload OBJ files. The easiest way is to include the OBJ file and the texture files all together in a zip file and upload it to the site.

Let me know how it worked out for you.
