Hi,

I look for someone that have a FFCP with a side blower fan that came with the late 2015 models.

I want to know If their blower fan vibrates, not extremely that it shakes but like a mobile phone that vibrates when it rings.

If I put my finger on the housing of the fan I feel the vibration. It also resonates a little through the whole enclosure of the printer. It doesn’t affect my print quality, the lines are good and straight as always. But I’m a bit worried that the vibration affects the bushings or other things of the printer over a period of time. I never checked this before or I didn’t notice it.

But last week when I level the nozzles I took the blower off and taped it upside down on the cable’s so It was not interfering with my work on the printer. When I put everything back in place and start to print the blower start to vibrate and make some grinding noise for about two or three minutes, the noise went away but I think that vibration remained.

So if some FFCP owners can give me some comparison of their blower fan on the FFCP, then I know if I have to buy a replacement or not.

Thank you for your help.

There’s a good chance that it’s a industry standard twelve volt fan, either 30mm or 40mm, and 10mm to 15mm thick. Look for them at your favorite online retailer, and you’ll probably find a drop-in replacement for very little cost.
