Hi,
I look for someone that have a FFCP with a side blower fan that came with the late 2015 models.
I want to know If their blower fan vibrates, not extremely that it shakes but like a mobile phone that vibrates when it rings.
If I put my finger on the housing of the fan I feel the vibration. It also resonates a little through the whole enclosure of the printer. It doesn’t affect my print quality, the lines are good and straight as always. But I’m a bit worried that the vibration affects the bushings or other things of the printer over a period of time. I never checked this before or I didn’t notice it.
But last week when I level the nozzles I took the blower off and taped it upside down on the cable’s so It was not interfering with my work on the printer. When I put everything back in place and start to print the blower start to vibrate and make some grinding noise for about two or three minutes, the noise went away but I think that vibration remained.
So if some FFCP owners can give me some comparison of their blower fan on the FFCP, then I know if I have to buy a replacement or not.
Thank you for your help.
Mark
There’s a good chance that it’s a industry standard twelve volt fan, either 30mm or 40mm, and 10mm to 15mm thick. Look for them at your favorite online retailer, and you’ll probably find a drop-in replacement for very little cost.
Fan is probably full of dust.

Never had that problem. Silly question but did you make sure you tightened the bolts properly? and as wirlybird said give it a blow out of dust. Other thing is You said you taped it up while you did some bits did a piece of tape tear off and get caught in the fan?

Mine does not vibrate at all.
I have yet to try FF fan that came with the blower upgrade kit, Its still in the plastic… but… The blower I got off ebay (same model) vibrates. It seams that the cheapest fans are not balanced that well.
My fan is running smooth. Had the printer for 14 months now. Use it regular - not heavy duty everyday.
Hi Guys,
Thank you for the answers… There is some light dust on the blades, It’s a good idea to give it a blow with canned air first. If it then still vibrates I order a new blower. I find the original blower on Aliexpress for around 16 USD or by a local seller for 14 Euro but the delivery cost are around 12 Euro.
