Is it true that no-one at 3dhubs is using an Italian Fabtotum?
The latest version is great - no problems with the printing and also allows to swap the head with a milling module. I’m also going to purchase the laser head as soon as it appears on their store.
Quality vs cost is one of the best on market, imho.
Any thoughts?

I got one! It is the first version of the machine 's head, anyway results are pretty appreciables!!
Fully agree, bought one of the very early machines and had some teething problems, but company where fantastic to deal with and worked hard with me to get my machine going. Like all 3 axis machines, once you get to know what settings works for which application, they are very reliable. I even bought the dev head kit and currently making my own 2W laser head

I have an earlier model Fabtotum from the Indiegogo campaign that I have been using since May 2015. Firmware updates over the past several months have been causing problems. Before that I didn’t have any issues except for a defective power supply to Totumduino cable and the hot end heater element burned out. The power supply fan is noisy on startup but it works fine.
Currently the probe length measurement routine is broken but I am able to print by entering a best guess of the length. I haven’t tried scanning or milling yet since I haven’t had a need to do that. The software required to create a file for milling is more complicated than that for printing.
I’m going to try scanning a part soon to create a modified version. I hope that I will not have any problems switching the extruder from print to scan mode.
Eventually I will order the new heated bed to bring my unit closer to the latest “Core” version.
The support team and website forums have been very helpful.
I purchased one second-hand (the pro version) and it’s much better than my other printers!
Set it correctly and it gives some high quality prints in all materials, including bronzefill.
Plus, I’ve been playing around with the laser module, engraving wooden keyrings and pendants, and it’s great fun.
I totally recommend.
