I am thinking to buy a cheap 3d printer.
Used Makerbot 5th gen ( old extruder version ) is just $1400 and
another not famous printer ( Cubicon style ) is around $1500 ( not used )
Which one will be the better choice or does anyone can recommend the printer at this price level?
Hi, I own a Afinia/Up! and just ordered a E3d Big Box.
I am not sure what features you like of those 2 printers that you are looking at but, I would look at a Prusa i3 kit or assembled; for under $1000 you will have a machine that has a bigger build volume, prints both PLA and ABS, and everything else out there like flexible filament; has now the e3d hot end that is the best out there, you can repair and hack yourself, and you will learn a lot while at it. It is fully compatible wit Simplify3d which is great too.
Now, if you don’t want to mess at all with hardware or software and just want to print then Afinia or Zortrax are much much better than the 2 you mentioned.
