Do any hubs have PLA or ABS that is specific to only one printer? (For hubs that have multiple printers) I find it odd that 3d hubs wants me to enter in the colors of PLA I have available 8 separate times! Once for each printer. I don’t see how this is applicable to real life? I have 20-30 rolls of PLA at any given time that can print on all of my printers. The same situation goes for ABS and PETG. So now I have to enter 10-20 colors 24 times? What am I missing?
Each printer is one device and might be run together or apart. So the hub can produce 2 items (orders) in the same time frame.
It’s not possible to feed the filament from a single reel to 2 printers at the same time.
Information about each printer and available colours are stored in a database which the web page pulls the information to display.
In real life it’s up to the printer’s human operator to decide the best printer for the order taken on based upon the given instructions from the human placing the order. Running 2 printers with many colours requires that it’s operator needs 2 reels of the same PLA/ABS in the same colour
true. i found this odd. you just need your printers listed and material database in 1.75 & 2.85 .easy peasy

This reply reads like authentic frontier gibberish. I normally have 5 or more spools of black or white PLA and ABS and frequently run multiple printers for the same order. 3d hubs does not track filament diameter. It’s a fairly simple change to relate materials to printers as separate tables vs having materials and printers in the same table. Then you could load up all of your materials and link them to machines.

It would be quite a bit easier. Really anything at all different could make managing prices and printers easier.
Didn’t wish it to be “authentic frontier gibberish” but based upon your answer above and the question asked.
I can’t understand your reason for the question in the first place.
It came across as “I don’t wish to list 20 colours for each of my 2 printers as that would take too much time so can 3D hubs change the database instead” It’s easier to say it than do it.
With the right set-up you could link all materials not just ABS/PLA but the carbon/wood/steel/electric ones to one machine but might not be able to price them differently as needed.
Hi Miaviator, I hear what you are saying! I have it on my long todo list to update the colors on all my printers but in the mean time I have the color All listed on some printers and ask the customer after they put in an order
