Hi, as a newbie to 3D printing, I have encountered loads of problems with bed levelling, getting prints to adhere to build plate, etc etc. But have learned through forums and loads of experiments. But now have come to a dead end with a CTC printer running creator. the printer was running fine, now all of a sudden Y axis is building everything short by 5mm, X ok? Using Makerbot software. Have tried running same designs on another machine, and have noted that this machines is also slightly out? Do I need to calibrate motors, if so how?
Thanks for any help as the machine is now useless (5 months old). THANKS.
Is it 5mm or is your 6%? If you select a replicator 2 you will see the 6% error as it has one more tooth on its drive gears. Make sure you have replicator dual selected as your machine type.
Hi, and thanks. If I select Replicator dual, the option to print is not available. If I unplug or switch off, Makerware selects Replicator USB and I can print (Y 5mm out). But when Dual selected again, no print option. Tried another machine CTC, this one allows Dual selection and print? Approx 2mm out.
Thank you for message.
Found the problem!!! The small grub screw holding the belt pulley to the motor (y axis motor), although tight was allowing a small movement.
Have ordered some loctite screw lock and am going to check and locktite all screws.(on all machines).
