Hi i have a replicator 1 ctc dual extrusion, problem is when i go to level my bed it does not take me onto the steps no more ever since i uploaded to Sailfish, i’d like to go back to makerbot as i do not have the skills to soldier a autobed anyway, i use S3D to print, but it’s ruining my prints due to i cannot level my bed, it was great before i uploaded to sailfish.
I understand how sailfish is amazing and many features
But for me not been able to have all my bed leveling steps, it’s a pain.
Anyone else with a CTC experienced this when you update to Sailfish your leveling your bed has only 1 step which is the centre, no longer it goes to all the sides since the upgrade.
So if i get this straight, i choose makerbot replicator 1 mightyboard
I then choose my version number
Then i press the button the same time as upload then it is done?
And is Makerbot’s XML that came with ReplicatorG not going to break my printer? I heard too many stories like the SD card stops working, thanks for any reply, i am new with printing!
If you read the inscreen instructions, it states that you are meant to move the extruder manually after it moves it to the centre, so this is perfectly normal.
You can manually move the nozzleover the leveling screws by hand.
For me, it’s better that manual placement of the printing head.
Comparing to normal 4 auto positions, as i didn’t seen yet the auto leveling bed mod on CTC.
The stepper motors disable themselves and you can freely slide the extruder head around and level any position you want, I honestly think this is better then leveling preset positions. And once you level it you can always test the bed before a print by printing a bed leveling calibration piece.
