My CTC Replicator knock off appears to have lost all its software. On power up I only get 2 rows of dot matrix squares on the display. It was running it’s original software against Makerbot slicer and operating software on my laptop. Prior to the 100% blowout, the printer had forgotten it’s second print head. I’m no geek so complicated software updates are not really my game, is there a way I can flash the board to reinstate the original programme?

I have tried contacting the help web site shown on the sticker on the front of the machine outlining the problem with no reply.

Alternatively I’m considering rebuilding the machine using a different controller board with Marlin firmware and better operational support. and cannibalizing the CTC mechanical parts.

This is more likely than not that your lcd is broken. When you turn on your printer, does it appear to work correctly, regardless of the screen being blank?

I would lean towards a bad lcd, or a bad connection, or a bent pin in the SD slot that is shorting out the screen.

You do not want to add a marlin board. Your printer just takes a little care and repair from time to time.

To answer your question though"

You can reload your firmware by following the instructions here: http://www.sailfishfirmware.com/doc/sailfish.pdf 67 Read the whole thing, and follow the instructions very carefully.

Hi, I had problems with the LCD and the plugs being crossed over when the printer arrived. at present the led’s behind the key pad are not lit and the little tune it usually plays isn’t there when it’s turned on. I’m no software geek and the loading of sailfish looks prety daunting but I’ll give it a try. Thanks.

It could be the firmware I had this issue, but i got them to send me a new board as my machine was still under warranty. If you are trying to contact they through the ctc3d website, they are terrible with communications.
