Hi, My CTC dual extruder, and I can`t seem to get my settings locked down. I am using the makerware software that came supplied. 1st test print / 2nd etc all the same.
I am using PLA on the the right extruder only. tried to print a test boat, looks like this .see photo below. its rubbish, Whats up with the calibration on this printer, image of small print, but did it again at 10x as advised by supplier still comes out same way. help. even the calibration cube 20mm x20mm is rubbish, it seems to under extruding. check head and nozzle, or clogs ?
also im makerware where is the extruder flow setting, 1.75mm on fliament pla
The settings I am using are:
temp: 220
bed: 60
Layer 0.20
fill 20%
shell: 2-3
extrude speed 40-50
travel speed 100
Any help much appreciated.

Have a look at this, https://all3dp.com/common-3d-printing-problems-and-their-solutions/ it has been really helpful for me. Re-level the bed using a piece of regular paper (you will be doing this countless times!) Bed leveling is under Utilities on the machine itself and it walks you through the process. Use the calibration 20mm cube on Makerbot to play with temperatures - all filaments vary even if they are the same brand ie. orange may print at 210c nicely but blue requires 220c. Makerbot desktop can be downloaded off the internet and works with my CTC. Hope it helps.
Hi Chris! A few suggestions: make sure the flow rate is set to 100% and also make sure that the filament size (diameter) is set correctly in your slicer software.
In addition to what the others have said, I strongly recommend that you print the calibration cube sample that comes with replicatorg (you can use
the STL with any slicer).
Its 20x20x10 and it’s such a “known quantity” that its a lot easier to advise what the problem is.
in makerware where is the flow setting for extruder
