Can anyone confirm what dimension bearings are used by the CTC 3D printer?
Hey!
My bearings are sounding very warn and I would like to put some new high quality bearings in but im not 100% of the sizing I need.
I’m pretty sure the inside diameter is 8mm as I put my caliper on one of my rods but the other dimensions im not sure of.
These seem like the correct replacements but I was hoping the CTC rep could confirm this for me?

Are the correct bearing size 8X15X24mm ?

Yes I believe they are as they are just lm8uu bearings and I would go with igus bearings not bronze or more lm8uu
Those are the right ones. But your old ones probably just need a good cleaning and “super lube”.

Yeah I would agree I just grease mine up when they start making noise and make sure you tram your axis in properly or you will wear your bearings out in no time

I second that on the igus, got some direct from them for a mountain bike suspension and they are the dogs nut’s. The customer service is also second to none, even got a phone call about a week later asking if they were ok

I might start by a cleaning of them and see how I go!
I would rather just throw money at it until it goes away though. Whats the most premium bearing available?
My real goal is to minimize all unnecessary noise on my CTC 3D printer.
Step 1 - Fix bearing noise
Step 2 - Get rid of the silly 24v motherboard fan. I have a much more " noise appropriate" solution on the way

Stopped my mb fan noise by simply adding O-rings so the vibrations don’t transfer to the casing
