Hi,
Recently I had an issue with my CTC 3D Dual Extruder printer and the plywood plate underneath the aluminum build plate got damaged.
I thought about printing the part using PLA from the files supplied here:
The Replicator is MakerBot's newest and best yet personal 3D printer. With a build envelope that’s roughly the size of a loaf of bread, it gives you the power to go big, and with the new MakerBot Stepstruder MK8, built-in Dualstrusion is possible...
However upon more detailed inspection, the corresponding part STL file in the thingiverse bundle:
Makerbot_Replicator_including_canopy - MP2336-Thing-O-Matic-2-Z-Arm-Lasercut-Plate-1.STL
Isn’t a proper match to the part in my printer. Below is the link of an overlay between the original part and the STL model above:

Does anyone know where I could obtain any models relating to the CTC 3D case parts, for what appears to be a Makerbot Replicator 1 Dual Extruder?
Thanks in advance!

Hey @wickwire !
I’d say your best bet is reaching out on the CTC boards on 3d Print Board and see if any of the community members there can help you out. It is a decently active community, so its very possible someone there has a model that they either made themselves or acquired from somewhere. It’s a much larger community than the CTC one on here as well, so I think you’ll have better luck there.
You could try reaching out to CTC directly and seeing if they have a model available/are willing to give it to you, but they might consider this “proprietary” or refuse to give it out in order to prevent people from selling aftermarket products.
Hi Enza3D,
Thank you for your reply, I will definitely ask there for help - I wouldn’t mind buying the part if the issue were CTC proprietary files, I searched online and came up empty - so I just thought that, well, from a maker perspective, I could just try to… make it!
Anyways, I have managed to remedy the situation for now, using hot glue and some big washers - the hot glue patch can be seen on the picture actually - and hopefully it will keep on working until I get it properly fixed!
