CraftBot Marvin

I am relatively new to 3D printing and I own a CraftBot. I’m trying to print the Marvin figure but keep running into issues with over hangs and no support. What advice can you guys give me to stop the drooping plastic?

Print with a little bit power temperature, increase cooling and maybe print a bit faster, lastly you can try to print multiple margins at once, so that each Marvin has more time to cool down. If you can upload pictures of your failed Marvin, we can help you with more specific advises, but the tips above should show some improvements. Cheers, Marius Breuer

I also find that it’s easier to print overhangs with a lower layer height. That way, each layer has a bit more contact with the previous layer.

I’ve had better luck printing Marvin at 0.1mm then at 0.2mm.

Hey @FABbulous, how about starting a new thread with your print settings for a Marvin printed on a Craftbot? Including details such as:
printer​ ​model​ &​ ​settings​ (temperature, ​speed, ​layer height, ​nozzle width, retraction settings, ​etc), filament​​ (type, infill, support ​usage, etc), ​total print time ​and some images. In this way, new Hubs with the same printer will have something to refer when trying to get activated. Let me know if interested. Thanks!

I would suggest heading over to the CraftUnique forums. I’m sure you will find the answer to your question. But, I’m curious as to what temperature you are printing at? If you are using PLA, make sure you use the default PLA temperature setting or if using ABS, switch to the correct temperature for ABS. If you are using CraftWare as your slicer, prior to slicing, make sure you check the “auto generate support” field to add support. Or enter the support manually through the appropriate screen in CratfWare. Good luck
