Cheap 3D printer talk

I have looked at the Turnigy Mini Fabrikator by Tiny Boy, but nobody sells it anymore.

I’m honestly not sure any even exist anymore. The Mini Fabrikator was your best bet, but after that was discontinued I can’t even find a printer for under $200, let alone one that fits your requirements. The closest I know of is the M3D Micro, but it’s quite a bit over your budget. You could wait for Tiko to start shipping, but until then I don’t really see many choices.

Tiko looks awesome, I’m almost leaning towards buying one outright, instead of building my own portable second printer.

Well, there is the Tiko Printer on Kickstarter, but they have not started shipping yet. But how many printers have high-speed video of a 6 foot drop test? Should be a good one to be portable.

I know that the Mod-T exists, but that is a little too big. Based on what I have seen, it is not a very good printer. I’ll look into it.

It was a Kickstarter project, which too often have extremely delayed and unpredictable shipping dates. They were supposed to start shipping November 2015, but seeing as they’ve already been delayed so much I can see them being delayed for quite a bit longer.

Expect preorders to open anytime from tomorrow to sometime several months from now.
