Hello, everyone,

I just moved to Taiwan last year and have been doing some 3printed works about 2 years.

I have been using Shapeways.com 1 to print my metal parts till now. Is there any place here in Taipei that I can use to print metal parts?

Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

Hey there @ProeWalker,

We have quite a few great hubs in Taipei like @Bob_Chang ,@TaiwanRP or @Kai_Yu and many others, unfortunately, none of them listed any metal filament on their profiles.

Guys, maybe you know anything about it, or it is in your plans to expand to print something like this as well? This would be something new in the region and I am sure would have a great demand to produce it locally.

Hi, do you need the metal parts for strength and the physical properties of metal? Or do you want the metal optic and shine of metal?

Thanks for your attention and comment!

I make some jewelries and goods used daily like a clip for closing

a tote bag or a tape cutter and so on so forth.

So in my case, hardness has higher priority than precision when

using 3d printed metals.

Shapeways is like a factory. They use laser printers which

can handle metal powers pretty well.

I had never used desktop printers before. Can desktop printers

also melt metal power?

Thanks for asking.

What kind material can make metal optic or shine of metal?

Sorry for asking these basic questions. I am pretty new in 3dhubs.

Hi Elle, I’m sorry to tell you that I did not use metal print shop in Taipei. After some research, I went back and stick to Shapeways when I need metal prints.
