Can any hub in Adelaide (or Australia) do large prints?

Hi Guys,

Can anyone in Adelaide (preferable) or Australia wide print a large object (360mm diameter) in one go on their printer? A customer of mine is looking to be able to do that but I can’t with my printer. A ‘professional’ service bureau would probably prohibitively expensive. If you can I will just point him towards your hub.

Hi Andrew. 600x600x600 mm possible on our printer. Got something in the pipe now, but available by next week. Quality is solid “medium”. .15mm layer height, .2mm nozzle.

Yes I did put it together! As for what model it is…that’s trade secret i’m afraid. However I can say that it is defiantly the lowest cost kit you can buy for that footprint, it’s extremely well supported and the supplier is improving it all the time.

Hi Andrew, Up to 1000x540x520 or 800x400x325 available through my company 333D (333d.com.au) We are also building a 540x540x1400 build volume printer but it is not quite finished yet. We are a custom build-volume manufacturer of large 3d printers. Have gone down to .4 nozzle @.05mm layers with excellent results. Solid professional machines. Sounds like you may have found people to do the work this time round but I thought I’d throw it out there incase you ever need something humongous Can build up to 2m x 2m x 2m with our current custom model or 800x400x500 with our “fits through a standard doorway” model. Food for thought!

Cost is based on a few factors, mostly time and filament usage. Some jobs use only 250g and take 30+ hours at very fine settings, we once printed a 11kg part for a client using 2.4mm nozzle in around 12 hours so we do have to quote fairly on a job-by-job basis. While it is an industrial printer our costs are very reasonable compared to running alternative printers with closed-source filaments and the like.

I’m sure someone can do it for you. Are you sure that 3d printing is the best solution for this job? 3D printing is great but it’s often the case that there are other ways that sometimes end up being more suitable. 360mm isn’t big, I’ve printed things that are up too 600mm(and larger) x 1275mm tall. My tip of the day is, let others take the risk. You just pay for the result.
