i have to say that i have had issues with colorfabb and the ultimaker filament, but also got aweseome results with both of them.

I used a lot of fabherdashery filament, that was awesome but unfortunately does not come on spools and this resulted in some problems.

check ot this test, its a little unfair on colorfabb because i get my best colorfabb results with 210 c

good luck

Thanks for the info!

try our formfutura range from our 3d webshop based near manchester uk

Have you tried our Clarity Filament by The 3D Filament Shop. We have many repeat customers including some Major film studios. Can I ask why you are using ABS and not PLA, is it for structural work or are you just playing. PLA is far more forgiving for a novice printer! And if you want a free sample please let us know.

I’d be delighted to try your filament!

From this thread I’ve realised PLA is probably the way forward for me… I didn’t really know the properties until looking a bit further into it.

You can get me on mail@darrenmillar.com

Thanks again!

just wanted to add that i had good experience with ABS deluxe, it has less warp, less bad fumes and you can print faster.

you can get it here or in plenty other shops

I use Formfutura filaments and have never disappointed.

I use ColorFabb and it is pretty good. Especially the PLA-PHA. Stay away from the cheap China filaments!! It’s very frustrating using those bad filaments. PLA is better than ABS in many ways. Also tried Laybrick and it has a surprisingly interesting texture and easy to print with. Probably LayWood as well.

I always work with Ice filaments for PLA and ABS. Almost never a problem. It looks your head is heated a bit too much.

Try to lower temperature by steps of 2°.

I have been using esun ABS, and it works out fine for me, you can check out my Marvin at my page. From your photo, I think the issue maybe the temperature being set too high… if you are printing at .1mm, you can use 225’C Speed 20mm/s outer shell, 30mm/s inner shell.

Make sure cooling fan is on.

we sell form futura (pay cheap and buy twice ) and proto pasta and have full cad design and draughting services too

A few people have said this! I think i need to check it out!

I think you answered your own question… Don’t print fine details at 100% speeds, little to no fan.

I work with ABS from www.filamentworld.nl, first I had do make some adjustments to understand the settings. After that, all prints worked well. They have very responsive and knowledgeable support too.

Hey @jradler, thanks for your input. Moving forward, when making a recommendation, could you please refrain from overtly promotional comments? I think everyone here can confirm that sharing your experience with printing with a certain filament - either by sharing best practices, or cool prints - would get others to try it. Cheers

Thank you all for your replies…

I found out today after the Ultimaker showing errors that the heat sensors on the head and bed are faulty… So i’m sending it back…

It was driving me crazy!! Well at least now there’s a solution!
