Hi, I am an owner of an ATOM 2.0, here is their store page, which currently lists the printer (kit) at $1699 USD

Performance for price is extremely good. I’ve never used a printer with consistent extrusion, and speed, and the print volume is very nice as well. It prints PLA, as well as those special variants of PLA based materials (like soft, clear, wood, copper, etc)

All the structural parts and parts essential for printing are metal made, custom designed by the company and custom manufactured in Taiwan.

Maintenance is easy, and because you learn the whole printer by assembling it, you will usually know what the problems are and how to fix it. Assembling it is fun, the two manuals give very detailed steps for you to follow throughout the whole assembly process.

I’m currently setting up my print hub on this website, and I’ve uploaded some things I’ve printed so far. It prints 200 microns perfectly, and can go down to 50 microns with very little problems. The dual cooling fans allow it to print an overhang of 80 degrees without support.

Your prints look very good. Overhangs seem to be fantastically well printed.

What PLA brand do you use? Did you test colorFabb? Did you test composite materials like woodFill?

You mention few problems when printing at 0.05mm. What were your problems? How did you manage to override them?

Could you print a Marvin @ 0.2mm and 0.05mm and take some photos for me? It would be a great way for me to know the quality of the prints.

What filament brand do you use? Did you try any composite filament like woodFill?

Did you have any problem maintaining the printer?

What are your general thoughts about it and about ATOMZ service and communication?

I just used a random local PLA brand from Vancouver, nothing specific.
I have not used colorFabb’s PLA because they are expensive, but I’d assume prints from that would be good.
I’ve tested other specialty materials before like copper and soft PLA and they should work but the temperature settings are different, and may take a few tests to perfect.

I meant very little problems as in it prints well. Hardest part is to get the first layer down on the plate evenly, and to make sure all layers stay cool so it doesn’t get mushy.
