hi guys thanks again for all your quick responses to my last post , I have done everything that was recommended and it’s working lot better , well it was , now my extruder is making a thudding noise , sounds like it’s not gripping the pla and pushing it through , there is not as much pla coming through now either , I’ve opened the extruder up and there is a line on the motor where the pla has been positioned , it doesn’t seem warn , but if I had to guess I’d say this is problem , anyone had similar issues , I’m looking for advice on if it is the motor or something else , thanks

when it is thumping can you see if the drive gear is actually spinning or not? Mine was making a noise similar to what you are describing, but mine was a bad connection at the extruder motor from the constant movement. To solve this, i opened up the back of the motor, and soldered the wires inside. If it is spinning, but not gripping the filament, you need to adjust your extruder to apply more tension/pressure on the drive gear. I am not familiar with what printer you have, and what type of extruder.

Thanks for your reply , I have a ctc with dual extruder , I’ve taken them to bits and swapped parts around to see if it makes a difference but still making thud noise , I will try to see if it’s moving or not , when I feed the pla in it seems to move it through

it can be aggravating for sure, i chased my problem for about a month.
