Hello All!
So after about 3 weeks I’m confident in the quality of my printer and I’d like to print for others.
However I am interested in how everyone else advertises.
Do you know of 3d printing forums that allow self promotion or something like that?
Otherwise I could go down the google/facebook ads route and give a bit of money(maybe £50 or so) for what might be a good return but probably will not.

Have you taken care of all the verification steps 3D Hubs prepares?

Lol just checked. Nice work! Mines bee up for a few weeks has +500 visits, and no orders. I plan to use the forums for advice and examples of what’s seems to work then mimic. Study is taking its time. I’d be happy to hear what you find and why others have to say. Good Luck!

You need to provide a postal service, and a next day postal service too, not just pickup. RM large letter, RM small parcel and then RM Special Delivery (next day 1pm) will sort you out - go to your local PO for prices.
Next is your reviews - work on your communication for real orders - new customers think 3D Printing is voodoo magic when first ordering, so explain everything to make the process easy for them to understand. They like images of the print in progress too! You need to rank well for your area, and the true key factor is the amount of orders/reviews. You need to get more reviews - easiest and best solution is to ask friends and family to order objects through your hub. (How you compensate them for their payment is up to you.) This will give you experience on dealing with live order and grow your review score. Repeat custom is also important.
Once you have reviews your hub will start to rank organically and orders will/should start to trickle in. As mentioned by stngrz - you can use some paid advertising, but you will probably get 0 return on any initial investment unless you’ve set up some good advertising rules and a good reason to convert that click into an order.
Building your hub orders is a slow process… invest months, not days.

Thanks for the advice
I will set up the postage tonight.
Also I have a couple of friends for whom I’ve made prints for so we can retrofit them into orders
Google ad words can be done very inexpensively.
Local activity is a big way to get business, such as working with schools, makerspaces, etc.
3dhubs will provide you with free artwork if you offer a student discount, that you can make posters for, and put up at universities.
You can make your own facebook page, that has served me well.
You can also put up your own website.

I’m also trying to get word about my hub out. Thinking about telling some of my friends about it and hoping word spreads. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. And free
