hi i have just received my flashforge finder and im having an issue with printing a couple model every time i go to print them it tells me “reaches the 36-byte limit, please shorten the length and reload the file before printing” the model isn’t over hanging the build template. please help
Hi,
You must shorten “the name” of the file. Long named stl files are not well accepted by most of the slicers. Solution: Rename the file with a shorter one.
happy 3d printing,
You need to shorten the name of the file you send to the printer
indeed the filename of the .gx file is too long. just rename the STL file and load it in FlashPrint again.
Sounds like the file name is too long!
Rename the .stl file and try again.
Shorten the name of the file?

All you need to do is shorten the file name of the STL file that you are trying to print.
What slicer are you using? My best advice is to buy Simplify3d, it will, without question, increase your print quality.
Simplify 3D will still throw the error regarding the length of the file name.
It’s related to the firmware running on the printer and so it able to show the file name upon the LCD.
Simplify 3D can also give you better control when using duel nozzle setups
