Hello again hubs! I’ve got a question to ask today. So recently my business has been doing well, which means I’m in higher demand for 3d printing filament. I myself am based in lower Canada/lower Ontario to be more specific. I usually buy my filament from filaments.CA as they are extremely cheap priced, but lately they have never been coming into stock on anything I need which is an issue when looking for a reliable source of printing material. And when I say lately I mean for the past 5 months I’ve been waiting for certain products to come in stock that never have. I’m looking for another store with similar or better pricing, remember though that us stores are not ver applicable to me as the exchange rate is horrid as well as customs and shipping. I’m also looking for faster shipping possibly free like filaments.CA offers. I’ve been looking myself but I was hoping some of you guys on here could help me out. Thanks again!

Why not try making your own? It’d allow you to make only the filament you need, and to also create special filaments that users may want. Your margins would increase as well. Just a thought.

I’ve actually looked into this, and from what I’ve found its actually the exact same price or more expensive for me to make my own, as well the startup costs are quite large and time consuming. The other issue is the quality of the filament goes down drastically. For the moment, over buying stock in filament isn’t much of a problem, it’s only a small fraction of the money moving around in my business. Besides, it doesn’t go bad so as long as storage isn’t a problem it shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks for the reply!

Check out digitmakers.ca. They have pretty good prices. They are in the Toronto area.
