Protolabs Network is taking steps towards reducing CO2 emissions. Manufacturing is a complex industry with an even more complex environmental footprint. We don’t have a ready solution, but we believe the best way to address a problem is to better understand it.
Measuring our impact
With this in mind, we’ve implemented a framework for estimating emissions to share with you in the hopes that it's useful for your business too. See some examples of the calculations we’re using to monitor scope 3 manufacturing emissions, including logistics, raw material and production emissions. Note that these estimates represent a simplified model that allows us to monitor our environmental impact over time. The Protolabs Network team is working on several initiatives to enrich our data and improve our assumptions going forward.
